aBOUT
THE SESSION WILL BE HELD JUST SOUTH OF THE AJO AND MISSION INTERSECTION AT 4155 W. MISSION. THE EVENT WILL SPAN OVER JUST SHORT OF A MILE, WITH 14,400 SQUARE FEET OF MURAL SPACE. ITS ALMOST TWO MILES OF MURAL SPACE MAKES THE SESSION MURAL FESTIVAL ONE OF THE LARGEST IN TUCSON. THE WALL WILL HAVE “BRING THE RAINFOREST TO THE DESERT!” AS THE PREDERTERMINED THEME TO UNIFY THE PROJECT, WHILE PROVIDING THE PARTICIPATING ARTISTS WITH CREATIVE FREEDOM. WE ASK ARTISTS TO SUBMIT A SKETCH OF THEIR IDEA, IN ORDER TO BE PROPERLY PLACED IN THE MURAL. SWBP WILL HOST OVER 35 MERCHANTS AND THREE TO SIX FOOD TRUCKS PER DAY. ALONG WITH MERCHANTS, THERE WILL BE A DIVERSE RANGE OF LIVE MUSIC SCHEDULED THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE FESTIVAL. THE SESSION IS AN ALL-AGES FRIENDLY EVENT PROVIDING ART WORKSHOPS, AND EVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN THE ARTISTS ON THE WALLS. SMALLER WALLS AND PAINT WILL BE IN PLACE FOR THE PUBLIC TO LEARN AND HAVE FUN PAINTING.

There are over 25 vendor spots Available. Vendors will be asked to show up an hour ahead of the start of the event. the venue may hold up to 5 food trucks, and the team’s looking for opportunities to feed artists. Please sign up asap, as space is limited.
tHE aRTISTs
Artists, get ready to participate in one of Tucsons, largest collaborative murals ever. There is over 14,400 sqft of paintable space. The painting will take place over two locations: a local small business and a private residence. Artists, remember to be respectful and kind, to guarantee future projects. This is our first annual “the Session” event, we plan to only grow and bring the artists along with us.
